PVR PROSE

Precision Vision Rehabilitation
Prosthetic Replacement of the Ocular Surface Ecosystem

Sometimes referred to as a “PROSE Lens” or the PROSE Treatment. A PROSE prosthetic scleral device is a large-diameter shell that looks like a large contact lens, specially designed to vault over the entire corneal surface and rest on the “white” of the eye. In doing so, a PROSE device can functionally replace the irregular cornea with a perfectly smooth optical surface to correct visual distortion and protect the eye tissue, (in case of severe dry eye/ocular surface disease), allowing it to heal. As part of the process, we teach patients one-on-one in the daily application; insertion, removal, and maintenance of the PROSE device.

With our expertise and specialized equipment, like the Vistante- Optical Coherence Tomography OCT, we are able to customize a prosthetic PVR PROSE device with the precise measurements down to the micron. With an exact fit, there is proper movement, comfort, and perfect vision. PVR PROSE prosthetic devices are customized for each individual eye.

Benefits of The Precision Vision Rehabilitation PVR PROSE Treatment:

  • Reduces symptoms and supports healing by restoring a healthy ocular surface environment
  • Reduces blurry vision by masking irregularities on the cornea’s surface
  • Prevents further damage by protecting and shielding the cornea against the environment and eyelids

With the PVR PROSE Treatment, we have successfully restored vision and comfort in patients with distorted corneas caused by Keratoconus, Pellucid Marginal Degeneration PMD, Stevens-Johnson Syndrome SJS, and other complex corneal conditions. In addition, irregular corneas caused by refractive surgery such as Radial Keratotomy (RK), Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK), and LASIK.

With our PVR PROSE Treatment, Global Contact Lens Specialists has the experience, knowledge, and technology to offer a precise-fitting process to create a new ocular surface, with the a proper fit, and great vision.
